FOR PARTICULATE AND COSMETIC INSPECTION OF PRE-FILLED
AMPOULES AND VIALS


The AIM (Automatic Inspection Machine) is capable of detecting particulate matter in vials and ampoules as well as inspect for cosmetic defects at capacity of 24,000 vials/hour. The cosmetic inspection system can inspect the following features of the vial:

  • Body
  • Heel
  • Neck
  • Crimp
  • Cap color/presence

SD Inspection

SD INSPECTION

The Static Division (SD) sensor uses advanced digital signal processing to reliably detect particulate matter.

With the computerized SD Inspection system, useful tools such as data analysis, oscilloscope screen, and automatic light intensity correction dramatically improve the machine performance.

Cosmetic Inspection

OPTIONAL COSMETIC INSPECTION

Eisai uses Cognex CVL inspection software, which acquires up to 24 images per inspection, now includes color inspection. Items such as cap color, plunger color, and product color can now be inspected. Flaws such as cracks in the glass, defective aluminum crimps, mssing cap, and stopper defects are easily detected.

Floating Particle Inspection

FLOATING PARTICLE INSPECTION

Inspects floating particles using machine vision tools that follow the height of the meniscus. Fill level can also be inspected at the same time.
Sinking Particle Inspection

SINKING PARTICLE INSPECTION

Inspects particles at the bottom of the container that do not move well. At the same time, scratches and dirt on the lower body of the container can be inspected.
Body Inspection

BODY INSPECTION

Inspects the body of the vial for cracks, scratches and stains while rotating the vial at a high rate of speed.


Heel Inspection

HEEL INSPECTION

Inspects the heel region of the vial for cracks, scratches and stains.
Neck Inspection

NECK INSPECTION

Inspects the neck and shoulder regions of the vial for cracks, scratches and stains.
Crimp Inspection

CRIMP INSPECTION

Inspects crimp by measuring area, height, and width of light reflection. Presence of flip cap can also be inspected.

Infeed Shutter

INFEED SHUTTER

By closing the infeed shutter, product supply can be stopped without stopping the machine operation that can be used to reduce false rejects dramatically.

21 CFR Part 11 Compliance

21 CFR PART 11 COMPLIANCE

EMIS(EISAI Machine Interface Software) is installed as machine control software. EMIS enables the machine to comply with 21 CFR Part 11 (FDA regulation for electronic signature and record).

Recipe Selection Screen

RECIPE SELECTION SCREEN

By choosing a pre-registered recipe, machine can be automatically setup based on the parameters in the selected recipe.
Alarm Screen

ALARM SCREEN

Alarm messages and location of alarms are displayed. Time of alarm instances can also be observed.
Sorting Section

SORTING SECTION

Rejects can be sorted into a maximum of 3 reject trays. Furthermore, the reject tray can be specified for each inspection category.
